Bring the dog — the whole forest is their backyard
No Fees. Lowest Price Guaranteed.
Mt. Hood is a dog's idea of a perfect weekend — endless forest to sniff, rivers to splash in, and cool mountain air the whole way. Our pet-friendly cabins welcome your dog so the whole family comes along, with no scrambling for a sitter and no guilt about leaving anyone behind. Many sit on quiet, low-traffic lots with room for a leashed dog to stretch out, and several back right up to the Salmon, Zigzag, or Sandy rivers.
The corridor is built for it. Miles of the Mt. Hood National Forest are dog-friendly on leash — the Old Salmon River Trail is a gentle, shaded favorite that runs right along the water — and after a day out, your dog gets to crash by the fire with the rest of the pack instead of in a kennel. We keep pet policies simple and spell out the per-stay pet fee on each listing, so there are no surprises at checkout.
Book direct with Mt. Hood Basecamp for the lowest price guaranteed and none of the platform service fees. Tell us how many dogs are coming when you book, and we'll make sure the cabin's a fit.
Most pet-friendly cabins include a modest per-stay pet fee that covers extra cleaning. The exact amount is shown on each listing page before you book — no hidden charges. Let us know how many dogs are joining you when you reserve.
Lots. Much of the Mt. Hood National Forest is open to leashed dogs. The Old Salmon River Trail is a shaded, riverside favorite that's easy on paws, and there are dozens more trailheads up and down the US-26 corridor.
Many of our cabins are near the Salmon, Zigzag, or Sandy rivers, and dogs love the summer swimming holes. Keep an eye on the current — mountain rivers run cold and fast, especially during spring snowmelt — and check each listing for how close it is to the water.
We don't impose blanket breed or weight limits. We just ask that dogs be house-trained, leashed outdoors, and not left unattended in the cabin if they tend to bark. Reach out if you have a specific question about a property.
