Inside it's full of character: a wood stove, a black spiral staircase, stained-glass windows, and warm red walls under a vaulted, cathedral-ceiling loft. • Two bedrooms sleeping up to four • Skylit queen loft upstairs, a second bedroom downstairs • One full bathroom plus an upstairs half bath • Full kitchen, wood stove, A/C, and heat • Dog-friendly (please add your dog to the reservation) • On-site parking and a wooded backyard with a picnic table

Rhododendron is a quiet, wooded pocket of the Mt. Hood corridor, right between the village of Welches and Government Camp. You can grab pizza and a beer at the Zigzag Inn, coffee down the road, or a sit-down dinner at the Rendezvous in Welches, all within a few minutes' drive. For the outdoors, Mt. Hood Skibowl is about fifteen minutes up the highway, Timberline Lodge about twenty-five, and Trillium Lake, with its classic mountain reflection, is a short drive in summer. Hiking, the Salmon and Zigzag rivers, and Wildwood Recreation Site are all close by. (Drive times are approximate; check current road and weather conditions in winter.)

Alice’s cabin is adorable, cozy, and very well stocked-extra bedding, pack ’n play, kitchen that’s easy to cook in, toys, kids’ dishes, etc. We loved the location. Unfortunately, our experience communicating with Alice was difficult when wildfire smoke made the AQI in the Mt. Hood area unhealthy for our two young children. Her responses were very formal & seemed AI generated. When we asked about leaving early and getting a refund, she initially told us to refer to the cancellation policy and later directed us to Airbnb’s AirCover. She responded quickly to simple questions but took 10–12 hours to answer questions about the AQI & refund. We stayed 2 of 3 nights and let her know we had AQI documentation and photos of ash on our cars, she then offered to refund us if we modified the reservation, which she ultimately did. We would stay again, and think without the AQI issues there would be no problem with communication.Also, the main road runs directly behind the house, so you can hear cars

Place was cozy,clean and close to many places near Mt Hood. There is a dedicated space for parking your car. We loved the slylights on the second floor. Its spacious for a family of 4. Will plan another visit soon.

Wonderful cabin in a beautiful neighborhood. Quaint cabin in the woods. Went to dinner in a nearby restaurant then walked the neighborhood that evening. Would stay again.
